2005 CONTEST

WMCPO donate their time and services to many projects to raise awareness about the benefits to getting organized through charity organizations, public speaking , and written articles.

From all the entries, WMCPO chose Melinda Young of Harrison City.  As a wife and mother of five children under the age of 12, she needed a peaceful place to unwind - but her master bedroom was anything but peaceful.  WMCPO  helped her reclaim her life and her bedroom from clutter.

The project took place in 4 stages:

- The initial consultation

- Two sessions of sorting, purging, and making decisions to let go of the "stuff"

- 1-800-Got-Junk? 's professional drivers loading up and hauling away at least 25 bags of clothes and items to be donated, recycled, or disposed of.

After meeting with Melinda and her husband Matt, to look at their room and discuss a game plan for organizing it, WMCPO then returned to work with the couple, sorting through the clothes, paper, and other belongings that were keeping them from enjoying and fully utilizing their space.

Melinda realized it didnt get this way overnight, but to see the results, the changes had to be made. Feeling a bit reluctant and overwhelmed at first, through the process, Melinda got the hang of it realizing how the stuff she was saving was keeping her stuck in the past and from enjoying day to day living.

We had a great experience helping our winner sort through years of clutter, helping to make changes in her way of thinking, in making decisions of what to keep and  deciding where to put it.

After two sessions, their room was transformed into a neat, functional, peaceful haven where they could find what they needed when they needed it.

Melinda ultimately was happy with the transformation of her bedroom.  When asked if she was excited about the changes Melinda was already looking ahead and replied " Yes. One room down, seven to go!"
